FAQ

Where can I find information on shipping policies?

You can find all of my shipping, refund policies, privacy and all full terms of use in the terms of  use & police section.  Go to this link Terms Of Use & Policies

How will I receive my order?

You will receive your art and soaps beautifully and carefully packaged and will be shipped using USPS (United States postal service) or UPS.  You will be provided a tracking number once your package ships. It will be emailed to you.

All orders are shipped 1-4 days from day payment is received, verified and processed.   If you are ordering a piece of furniture or painting, it will be shipped via UPS due to the size and dimensions and shipping requirements.  You will be notified prior to shipping of the cost.  Note: Due to the odd dimensions and weight which can fluctuate for furniture, it will be taken to the local UPS location to be weighed and priced with the address you have given me  for correct shipping estimates.

How do you create your handmade soaps and bath essentials?

I believe in keeping things simple, honest, pure and as organic and certified organic as possible.  I also do not make any medical claims that my hand made soaps will resolve or cure specific skin problems.   I strive to create a product that is naturally nourishing to the skin which will contribute towards your skin comfort and healing process without adverse reaction from chemicals, sulfates and parabens found in store shelf products that tend to aggravate skin conditions. All my soaps are truly free of synthetic chemicals and are only scented with essential oils.  The scents tend to be subtle and not overwhelming to your senses.  The soft colors found in my soaps are achieved naturally with herbs, spices, botanicals, vegetable juices and natural clays.

Soaps are made in small batches using the cold process, and traditional French hand-milled methods from my cold process batches.  Soaps are made from vegetable oils such as extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and Castor oil, Jojoba, grape seed oil to name a few, animal fats known as lard, tallow or sodium tallowate are not used.  Wonderful butters and essential oils, herbs, spices , natural earth clays and infused oils are added in the soap making process which contribute natural color and scent.

ARE YOUR SOAPS SCENTED?

Yes, but I only offer a very limited  selection of scented soaps due to cost and due to the sensitivity many have due to  specific scents.  I only use essential oils for naturally scenting my soaps or other bath products.  Though there is controversy over essential over fragrances, it is my personal preference to only use essential oils in moderation and soaps and products will be clearly marked that they are scented and I always offer unscented products.

Some essential oils used on a rotating basis are:

Lavender - a wonderful oil for all skin types, including dry, oily, blemished, sensitive, and mature skin. Soothes irritation, rejuvenates skin cells, kills bacteria.  This soothing oil reduces stress, relaxes muscles, and helps you sleep.

Lemon- reduces stress, helps you focus, and is an antidepressant. It kills viruses and bacteria, regulates oily skin, and relaxes stiff muscles.

Lemongrass - a rejuvenating and stress-reducing oil with a fresh earthy lemon scent that is an anti-depressant.  Astringent properties make it especially good for oily or acne prone skin and dull hair.  A natural deodorant.

Orange (Sweet) - a bright and fragrant oil that reduces anxiety and depression, improves circulation, rejuvenates dull skin, detoxifies, and is a gentle antiseptic.

Spearmint - refreshing, uplifting, calming scent. Treats headaches, nausea, fatigue, and depression. Safe for young children. Antiseptic.

How long will my soap last?

A full bar of soap will last anywhere from several weeks to months, depending on use.  There is lots of natural glycerin in my hand made soaps, and because I do not use synthetic chemicals to act as a harding agent, handmade soap is usually softer than your traditional store bought soap, but with proper care it will last longer than regular soaps.   When using it in the shower keep it on a ledge where it stays dry between uses or use a well draining soap dish.

Is your hand made soap good for sensitive skin?

My soaps  do not contain any of the chemical additives that are often responsible for skin irritations.
