How do you create your handmade soaps and bath essentials?
I believe in keeping things simple, honest, pure and as organic and certified organic as possible. I also do not make any medical claims that my hand made soaps will resolve or cure specific skin problems. I strive to create a product that is naturally nourishing to the skin which will contribute towards your skin comfort and healing process without adverse reaction from chemicals, sulfates and parabens found in store shelf products that tend to aggravate skin conditions. All my soaps are truly free of synthetic chemicals and are only scented with essential oils. The scents tend to be subtle and not overwhelming to your senses. The soft colors found in my soaps are achieved naturally with herbs, spices, botanicals, vegetable juices and natural clays.
Soaps are made in small batches using the cold process, and traditional French hand-milled methods from my cold process batches. Soaps are made from vegetable oils such as extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and Castor oil, Jojoba, grape seed oil to name a few, animal fats known as lard, tallow or sodium tallowate are not used. Wonderful butters for their many benefits, essential oils, herbs, spices , natural earth clays and infused oils are added in the soap making process which contribute natural color and scent. With the exception of Emu Oil because it works extremely well on my arthritis and inflammation. I do incorporate it in some of my body butters and sugar scrubs and this ingredient is clearly listed when used.

ARE YOUR SOAPS SCENTED?
Yes several of my soaps are scented and I only use essential oils for naturally scenting my soaps or other bath products. Though there is controversy over essential over fragrances, it is my personal preference to only use essential oils in moderation and soaps and products will be clearly marked that they are scented and I always offer unscented products.
Some essential oils used on a rotating basis are:
Cedarwood: purifying, helps acne, anxiety and neutralizes odors
Clary Sage: enhancing, anti-fungal, helps dry skin and is soothing
Eucalyptus: healing, antiseptic and expedites healing
Grapefruit: uplifting, anti-depressant, disinfectant and may relieve anxiety
Lavender: calming and uplifting, antiseptic, anti-depressant, regenerative
Lemongrass: awareness, insect repellant, revitalizes and renews
Lime: stimulating, great for cleansing the skin and very refreshing
Patchouli: relaxing, deodorant, tones the skin and regenerates tissue
Peppermint: purifying, soothes and cools the skin, very invigorating
Rosemary: enhancer, great for skin condition and baldness
Rosewood: modifier, soothing to the skin and slows the aging process
Tea Tree: cleansing, heals cuts, wounds and skin infections
What makes your soap "all natural"?
All the ingredients I use come from natural plant based sources such as vegetables, herbs and fruits. I don't use artificial dyes, synthetic fragrances, or detergents. Again keeping things pure and simple.
How long will my soap last?
A full bar of soap will last anywhere from several weeks to months, depending on use. There is lots of natural glycerin in my hand made soaps, and because I do not use synthetic chemicals to act as a harding agent, handmade soap is usually softer than your traditional store bought soap, but with proper care it will last longer than regular soaps. When using it in the shower keep it on a ledge where it stays dry between uses or use a well draining soap dish.
Is your hand made soap good for sensitive skin?
Absolutely! my soaps are hand made specifically for sensitive skin or easily irritated skin and can be used by all skin types. They are naturally gentle and do not contain any of the chemical additives that are often responsible for skin irritations. Everyone's skin is different, so if you have extremely sensitive skin, try one of the my soaps that are recommended for your skin type.
Allergies & Sensitivity
Please read all product descriptions (ingredients, scents, added textures & botanicals) before placing your order. What inspires you in your art work?
My love for God, life experience and nature are my biggest sources of inspiration, people what they are going through or have dealt with also motivates and inspires me to create work that I hope will be inspiring, motivational, thought provoking heart stirring and encouraging.
I have experienced much joy in my life and pain but through my faith and grace, pulled through some intense health issues. I take every opportunity to create and translate my hopes, my love for life and gratitude’s through my art work.
What is your process like when creating artwork?
I love to explore and experiment with my art. I do paint mostly in acrylics, but play a great deal with water colors, inks, mix media, I paint what makes me happy and ignites my soul.
Are you currently accepting Commissions?
Due to the volume of work I'm not currently taking on commission work.
You are a busy gal creating art and bath products, where exactly do you create them all?
I have a dedicated art studio in a spare room over our garage which is large enough to create designated areas for painting, sewing, office work and doing all of my packaging and shipping. For my soap making I use my kitchen, I have a lot of dedicated equipment that can only be used for making my soaps, lotions and sugar scrubs so they are kept in a dedicated area and when I'm making my bath products, I pull out whatever I need after I go through a sanitizing process.
